If you’re in Paphos and fancy a mix of sunshine, sea breeze, and a bit of ancient history, you’ve got to visit the Paphos Archaeological Park. It’s right by the harbour and super easy to get to—just a short walk from the cafes and shops.
The park is full of amazing ruins from the Roman and Greek eras, including mosaics that are over 2,000 years old (yep, and they’re still in great shape!). The most famous ones are in the House of Dionysos, where the floors are covered in colorful scenes of gods, heroes, and wild parties.

But it’s not just mosaics — there’s also a big open-air amphitheatre, crumbling columns, old villas, and even ancient tombs. It’s the kind of place where you can just wander at your own pace, take it all in, and imagine what life was like way back when.
What to bring?
- Comfy shoes (there’s a lot of walking)
- Water and sunscreen (Cyprus sun doesn’t play!)
- A camera or phone—there are some stunning views!
It’s peaceful, fascinating, and just a great way to spend a couple of hours in Paphos. Whether you’re into history or just enjoy being outdoors, Paphos Archaeological Park is 100% worth a visit.
Top Tip!
Go early or late in the day to avoid the heat—and the crowds!
